It was formed in 2004 and originally signed a contract with PS Company, a sub-division of Free-Will. The Gazette

(ガ ゼ ッ ト) –styled as the GazettE–, is a Japanese alternative metal band formed in 2002, initially under the name Gazette by Ruki (Takanori Matsumoto), Uruha and Reita. After having completed their training with the integration of members Aoi and Yune, who was later replaced by Kai, they signed with the Matina Records label and in 2002 released their first single entitled "Wakaremichi". However, it closed its doors that same year and PS Company served as its replacement.
